Iran's president blames US, Britain for slow pace of Lebanon peace Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad criticized the United Nations for its slow pace in reaching a resolution on a cease-fire in Lebanon, state-run television reported Friday as UN Security Council members said they had achieved just such an agreement. In a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ahmadinejad said that weeks of lingering negotiations at the U.N. Showed that the US was supporting Israel's offensive. "The US and Britain are intentionally wasting time in order to give the Zionist regime more time for continuation of its invasions against Lebanon," state television quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.
