Most of the changes that Word 2003 offers over Word XP have to do only with the XML file format; you won't find many new features. Users can now save, edit, and open XML documents that integrate with other applications in an organization. Word 2003 also includes some enhanced mark-up features and change-tracking functionalities that allow you to share revisions with others more easily, such as the ability to annotate text using a pen stylus on a tablet PC.
The good: Outlook 2003 filters spam and better organizes e-mail; Word 2003 offers side-by-side document viewing; Student and Teacher Edition can be installed on as many as three PCs.
The bad: Few changes for at-home and small-business users; very cool OneNote app not bundled within Office; requires Windows 2000 or XP.
