Ofcom has put it's foot down once again for BT to cut wholesale broadband rates, and unbundle the local loop.

The "transfer fee" for consumers to switch between ADSL suppliers has been fixed by BT for some time, but Ofcom is planning to cut it by up to 70%.

In response, BT said it "welcomed the move", and that it has already cut many prices. Paul Reynolds from BT Wholesale said "These price reductions are absolutely in line with what we jointly agreed".

Uh huh.
