Motorola president Zafirovski resigns

President and COO of Motorola Mike Zafirovski is to leave the company at the end of the month as part of a reshuffle coordinated by CEO Ed Zander. Zafirovski will also relinquish his seat on the board of directors when his term expires in May.

In absence of Zafirovski, CEO Zander will run day-to-day operations, with the presidents of mobile devices, networks, enterprise mobility, connected home solutions and government reporting directly to him.

Quite where this reshuffle is going I can't tell, but it may be the end of an era for a semiconductor and cellular handset manufacturer industry leader.
